About Us

I was born and raised in Iceland, but I have family both in Denmark and Sweden.  I finished  an  MSc degree  in Geology and later I got  an MBA degree.  After several years working in the building research industry and  as a collage  teacher,  I decided to make a u-turn  in my  career.  For the past 10 years, I  have  worked as dedicated travel designer. Founding  Polaris Journeys is certainly  a new challenge which I look forward to embrace with ambition. 

I  have  lived in different  countries in Europe before and while I was raising my 4 children and  I have travelled number of times to Asia and USA.   The passion for travel has followed me as long as I can remember, both in my own country and world wide.  I love to give some of that passion back when I design tours  When I travel, I always make the effort to understand better the people and culture at every destination.  Most  travelers are curious explorers too, so when we design tours for our clients, our strategy is to make that part of the plan, whenever possible.
My main interest  beside travelling is hiking, skiing, horseback riding, cooking and spending time at  my farm  in south Iceland with my  big  family and friends, dog and horses. I  always think there are too few hours in the day, but by being organized I am able to manage my days  well as it is so important  find the joy and  balance of life.
All is possible  with the right mindset !  Polaris Journeys  team is  enthusiastic  and we look forward to a bright future.
